Marianne: Hi! I went to Indigo last night thinking it was open to 9 p.m., only to find out it was only open to 7 p.m. I literally threw books into my basket and ended up with the Darkyn series. Have you read this and if yes, what do you think?

Its so wonderful to see other folks who love these writing genres so it doesn't have to be my guilty pleasure anymore. The pictures of book covers and little write ups are drool worthy. Blood Noir - Spotlight & Review

Blood Noir by Laurell K. Hamilton

"A favor for Jason, vampire hunter Anita Blake's werewolf lover, puts her in the center of a fullblown scandal that threatens master-vampire Jean-Claude's reign and makes her a pawn in an ancient vampire queen's new rise to power."

Once again, Laurell K. Hamilton does not disappoint! I've been looking forward to this book because of the development of the character Jason, and the relationship he has with Anita. The book delivers.

For those of you who were looking for Ms. Hamilton to write another book reminiscent of her earlier works in this series, I feel it's a mix between the old and new. There's alot going on, the pacing and plot blast off like a fire-cracker and keep going till the end.

Although the majority of the book centers around Anita and Jason, some of the regular characters make appearances and some new characters are brought into play.  I loved how during what should have been a trip home to see Jason's family, with all the problems that entails, Ms. Hamilton introduces a whole new set of problems that make the story that much MORE! The major plot-line of this book is tied up neatly by the end, but another huge plot-line is re-introduced during the telling of this story, and I am looking forward to finding out more about it! And as always, there are more new developments and complications, that leave me wishing I had a remote to fast-forward me in time to the next book.

I'm not going to lie, I am a HUGE Laurell K. Hamilton fan, of all  of her books in both the Anita Blake and Merry Gentry series. My only problem with anything to do with her books is having to wait a year between books for each series. And I'm grateful that she has two continuing series running so that it's pretty much 6 months between LKH books.
